Toilet Repair in Rialto, CA

Rialto has old housing and a mixed tenure: 78% of homes predate 1990, and 35% of households rent. Which of those you are changes the whole answer.

Short version

65% of occupied homes in Rialto are owner-occupied and 35% are rented, which is close enough to even that the first question is which you are. A landlord is generally responsible for a fixture in a tenancy; an owner is not. Housing there is 78% pre-1990, which dates the house rather than the fixture.

Tank and Bowl is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no fixtures, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

What the age of Rialto’s housing suggests

78% of housing units in Rialto were built before 1990, which is to say before the Energy Policy Act of 1992 set a 1.6 gallon maximum. EPA puts pre-standard fixtures at 3.5 to more than 5.0 gallons a flush.

That is about the house, not about your bathroom: a 1968 home may be on its third toilet. What the figure says is that in a town like this, an original fixture is a live possibility rather than a curiosity.

What is actually wrong with it

Work from the symptom rather than the fixture. Continuous running has a ten-minute test that settles it; water at the base is identified by when it appears rather than where; and a handle that does nothing is visible the moment the tank lid is off.

Ask which part was tested before the fixture was blamed. On a running toilet that means the dye test; on a leak at the base it means whether the flange was looked at. A quote to reset a toilet that does not mention the flange has not established why the last seal failed.

If the dye test pointed at the flapper, that is a part, not a fixture.Worth saying on the call, because it changes what somebody arrives with. We connect you to a contractor covering your area and you are never charged. Past toilets, Rialto is covered for whatever has gone wrong.
