Nothing in this overrides what a lease says about who repairs a fixture.
Short version
Tank and Bowl introduces and informs. It fixes nothing, plays no part in any agreement you make with a contractor, and overrides nothing a lease says about who is responsible for repairing a fixture.
Who the agreement is with
Tank and Bowl makes an introduction and takes no further part. What is agreed about the work — whether a part or a fixture, at what price, and what happens if lifting the toilet reveals a damaged floor — is between you and an independent business.
We are not a party to that agreement, we do not set or see prices, and we do not supervise or guarantee the work.
What the flush volumes and the town figures are
The flush volume figures come from EPA and describe what the law permitted at the time a fixture was made. They are about a regulatory era, not about your toilet, and the only way to know what yours uses is to look at the fixture.
The ownership and housing-age figures on town pages are Census estimates for a postal area, carrying their own margins. They describe a place rather than a household. Both sources are reproduced as published and both can be revised.
Nothing here is legal advice about a tenancy
Repair obligations between a landlord and a tenant come from the tenancy agreement and from state law, both of which vary. Our page for tenants describes the general position and is not advice about your agreement.
