Toilet Repair in Bogota, NJ

Bogota is a town of older homes, 91% of them built before 1990, where a little over a third of households are renting.

Short version

In Bogota the split runs 69% owner-occupied against 31% rented. That makes responsibility a matter of your own address rather than the town's pattern, and it is worth settling before anybody is called out to the property. Housing there is 91% pre-1990, so a pre-standard fixture using far more than 1.6 gallons a flush is a real possibility — though that dates the house, not the toilet.

Tank and Bowl is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no fixtures, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

Who this page is for in Bogota

Bogota splits roughly 69% owning to 31% renting across 3,125 occupied homes, so this page has two audiences. If you own, the decision is yours. If you rent, the toilet is almost certainly not your repair and the useful action is reporting it properly.

What the age of Bogota’s housing suggests

Bogota is old housing by this measure — 91% of its 3,203 housing units predate 1990, and 50% were built before 1940. Anything installed new in those homes was a pre-standard fixture at 3.5 gallons or more, against 1.6 today.

Plenty of them have been changed since, and this data cannot tell you whether yours has. It tells you what the odds are for the street rather than the room.

What is actually wrong with it

The fault list is short. A running tank and a weak flush are both usually parts inside the tank. A leak at the base is the one that damages the building, and a fixture that rocks is the one that causes it.

Ask what happens to the floor. A leak at the base has usually been going for a while by the time it is visible, and whether the subfloor and flange are sound is the difference between a seal replacement and a return visit.

If the dye test pointed at the flapper, that is a part, not a fixture.Worth saying on the call, because it changes what somebody arrives with. We connect you to a contractor covering your area and you are never charged. Past toilets, Bogota is covered for whatever has gone wrong.
