Toilet Repair in Farmington, NM
In Farmington, about 60% of homes predate 1990 and roughly 35% of households rent. Both halves of this page apply to somebody here.
Short version
Tenure in Farmington is close to even, at 65% owner-occupied and 35% rented. Where a home is rented the fixture is usually the landlord's to repair, so the lease decides who arranges the work and who is billed for it. Housing there splits either side of 1990 at 60% pre-1990, so flush volume is worth checking rather than assuming.

Who this page is for in Farmington
About 35% of households in Farmington rent. For them the fixture is part of the property and the repair is the landlord’s; for the 65% who own, it is a straightforward decision about a part.

What the age of Farmington’s housing suggests
Farmington straddles the line: 60% of its housing units were built before 1990, when the Energy Policy Act of 1992 set the 1.6 gallon maximum, and the rest since.
So the housing stock genuinely does not predict the fixture here, and the date inside the tank lid is worth more than any figure on this page.

What is actually wrong with it
Four complaints cover nearly all of it, and they are different faults rather than degrees of one. Running is the flapper or the fill valve. Nothing at all is usually the chain or a blockage. Water on the floor is four possibilities, one of which is not a leak. A weak flush is the water level, the chain, or the specification.
Ask them to name the fault before they name the price. “The toilet needs replacing” is not a diagnosis; “the flapper seat is pitted and will not hold a new flapper” is, and it happens to be a common one.
